Earthmoving machinery: double-sided market
The construction crisis is penalizing domestic sales of machinery and equipment which tumbled 26.2% for earthmoving machinery and 47.2% for road works machinery over the first nine months of the year. Exports within Europe, on the other hand, surged 57.2% in the first seven months.

Earthmoving machinery: specific regulations for travel on public roads
The association of Italian manufacturers, Comamoter, has obtained European Commission agreement to remove earthmoving machinery from the regulatory framework for agricultural and forestry tractors for defining a specific code for the sector for transport on public roads. Comamoter/Unacoma President Massimo Goldoni commented on what he said was an important result which will reduce production costs of this machinery and complete the single market in the sector.

Construction machinery: Market in steep decline in 2011 first half
Earthmoving and road construction machinery closed the first six months down 32.8% and 49.6% respectively. From 2007 to 2010 sales of earthmoving machinery tumbled 55%. The economic setting is unfavorable and the construction industry is struggling for recovery in the wake of the crisis of recent years.

Construction machinery: articulated strategy for reducing emissions
The European Commission is preparing to introduce Phase V for the reduction of fine particles. The Comamoter manufacturers association has accepted the challenge of a further reduction of emission pollutants. The strategy enacted on construction sites for the renewal of the machinery inventory, very often obsolete, noisy and dangerous for operators, is fundamental.

Construction machinery: a program on three fronts
The Crisis Table set up by the Ministry for Economic Development with the participation of the associations representing the manufacturers of construction machinery has held another meeting to work on a plan to include the creation of a machinery register designed to provide targeted incentive initiatives and a system for speeding up procedures for the completion of works commissioned by public agencies.

Construction Machinery: articulated plan needed
A crisis forum set up by the Ministry for Economic Development has begun examining market conditions and structural constraints limiting the development of construction. In preparation, the ministry drafted a document on the interests of the industries in the sector which might lead to the recovery of the market.

Earth-Moving Machinery: Sales Down 8.9% in 2010
Only 13,424 machines were sold throughout 2010, confirming a downward trend linked to the crisis in the construction sector, whose market also contracted significantly in 2008 and 2009. Back hoe loaders fell by much more than the average with a loss of 27.6%.
