PROHIPP – New Design and Manufacturing Processes for high Pressure Fluid Power
The aim of the PROHIPP project (May 2004 - October 2008) was to develop, validate and disseminate new design methods and manufacturing processes for high pressure fluid power components. The focus was on hydraulic cylinders, which in future will be requested to accomplish with various European Directives.
Prime features of the project are:
- new design by categories (i.e. taking into account the foreseen use of the product, design by analysis or DBA), life design, probability risk assessment and probability design methods
- advanced materials such as ceramics or thermoplastics; enhanced surface treatments such as chrome free coatings
- improved manufacturing processes, for instance dry or near-dry machining processes (waste products and lubricants reduction)
- innovative testing and monitoring methods
UNACOMA is a partner of the project, which falls under the Sixth Framework Programme.
UNACOMA’s role is to inform Companies about the activities of the project, and to provide support and visibility in the most important International Expositions of our business field. UNACOMA, taking part to the project, exploited an important opportunity to increase its informative service, because of the high scientific level of the project.
